The idea of Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking over Manchester United from the Glazers has unsurprisingly gone down very well with supporters.
With yet another protest staged for Monday’s clash with Liverpool amid the club’s horrific start to the season, those fans that ever had any have now lost all patience with the current owners.
On Wednesday, a spokesperson for Ratcliffe confirmed that the billionaire wishes to buy United, taking an initial stake in the club first. A Reds fan, he has been outspoken about the running of the club in recent years.

In 2018, he told The Telegraph that the club was in a “catastrophic” situation. And speaking to The Times in 2019 shortly after purchasing Ligue 1 outfit Nice, he hammered the club’s business since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
"United have spent an immense amount since Ferguson left and been poor, to put it mildly,” he said. “Shockingly poor, to be honest."
Ratcliffe added that his business, Ineos, “never wants to be the dumb money in town, never, never.” He summarised: "They (United) are in quite a big pickle as a business.”
