One of the brightest spots for the Oakland Raiders in 2018 was the play of fifth-round pick Maurice Hurst. For most of the draft season, Hurst was considered a lock to be a top-20 selection.
But after it was discovered that he had an enlarged heart at the NFL Combine, he fell all the way to the Raiders on the third day of the draft.
However, Hurst was super productive as a rookie. In 13 games (10 starts), he tallied 31 tackles, four sacks, three pass deflections, and one forced fumble. Only Karl Joseph graded out better (minimum 450 snaps) than Hurst in 2018, according to Pro Football Focus.
