What Sergio Reguilon has said about his future amid Chelsea transfer links

Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon has revealed that he has no idea what the future holds for him, despite a plethora of clubs chasing his signature this summer.

The 23-year-old left-back has spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Sevilla, who will be hoping to defeat Inter Milan in tomorrow night's Europa League final, and has made a real name for himself, establishing himself as one of the best-performing left-backs currently in Europe.

His performances have caught the eye of an array of clubs, most notably Chelsea and Italian giants Napoli.

The Blues are desperate to bolster their left-back options this summer, with head coach Frank Lampard eager to upgrade the position, with Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri both having struggled to nail down that particular role during the 2019/20 campaign.

Chelsea, who discovered this morning that they will face Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening day of the 2020/21 Premier League season, have been heavily linked with Leicester City's Ben Chilwell in recent weeks, with the England international having consolidated himself as one of the Premier League's most consistently performing left-backs in England over the past couple of seasons.

However, a deal for Chilwell is not expected to be cheap, with the Foxes reluctant to lose one of their star assets. With that in mind, a move for Reguilon, who is reportedly valued at just north of £20million, could be a much cheaper solution to the Blues' left-back troubles.

Despite his season-long loan at Sevilla almost at its conclusion, Reguilon has no idea what the future holds for him, regardless of whether he will be on the move again or remaining at Real Madrid.

"I don’t even know where I’m going to play next season," the Spaniard admitted in an interview with Muchodeporte.

"I have no idea, I have to assess all the options that we have on the table."

This season, Reguilon has racked up 37 appearances for Sevilla, scoring three goals and claiming seven assists.
