What Seamus Coleman said about Tottenham vs Liverpool will not go down well with Everton fans

Four English teams in the two showpiece European finals is what everyone in the football world is talking about.

With the regular season now over, attention turns to the big European finals next week, with Arsenal taking on Chelsea in the Europa League in Baku on Wednesday, May 29, before Liverpool and Tottenham do battle for the Champions League trophy in Madrid on Saturday, June 1.

It is set to be a historic week of action for English football.

Fellow professionals not involved are being asked for their predictions and during an Ireland training camp, Everton captain Seamus Coleman was quizzed for his thoughts, given the Blues' biggest rivals are in action.

But the Irish international sat firmly on the fence when asked who he would prefer to win, with Sky Sports interviewer Jamie Weir even offering him the chance to back Spurs, given his Toffees allegiance.

Coleman said: "Every Everton fan, every Everton player is going to want their rivals not to win, but as players we respect what they've done as a team, no one can take that away from Liverpool.

"What they did against Barcelona was incredible.

"As Everton we've just got to worry about ourselves and make sure our seasons improve.

"Let the best team win, if that's Liverpool or Tottenham then so be it, it's good for the Premier League."

Liverpool winning the Champions League may be good for the league, but we think, Seamus, that it may not be good for the Everton supporters.
