After the Tennessee Titans carried four tight ends last season, and with the team only having two currently locked-in at the position in Geoff Swaim and Anthony Firkser, 2021 undrafted free-agent signing Briley Moore has a great opportunity to make the roster out of training camp.
In fact, we listed Moore as one of the three UDFAs with the best chance to make the roster, and Tennessee’s current situation at the position was only one reason why.
The other comes from the fact that Moore tested as elite athletically prior to the 2021 NFL draft.
Moore’s RAS (Relative Athletic Score, via Kent Lee Platte) came in at 9.02, which was the third-best mark among tight ends in this year’s draft class, and ranks 92nd out of 927 tight ends measured since 1987.
When you consider his athleticism and ability as a pass-catcher, as well as the promise he has shown as a blocker, it’s hard to believe Moore went undrafted.
To get a bit more information on Moore, and to possibly see why he went undrafted, we decided to take a look around and see what scouting reports said about him before and after the draft.
One thing we noticed and liked? Some experts had Moore getting drafted in the sixth or seventh round, so on the surface it would appear the Titans got a steal of a UDFA.
