What Sabri Lamouchi will have learned watching his Nottingham Forest side for the first time

Nottingham Forest began their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over Alfreton - as new head coach Sabri Lamouchi looked on for the first time.

The Frenchman was in the stands at the Impact Arena, as the Reds fought back from behind to secure victory in the first of nine planned friendly outings.

A defensive mistake had seen Forest slip behind to a goal from Dec Bacon, but Brennan Johnson levelled in the first half, before Karim Ansarifard secured the win after the break, amid incredibly hot conditions.

Here Paul Taylor and Sarah Clapson discuss what the former Rennes and Ivory Coast head coach might have learned, on what was just his second day in charge, following the departure of Martin O’Neill.

Sammy Ameobi made his debut in the second half, as Forest named different XIs either side of the interval.

Forest will step up their work again when the squad fly out for a training camp in Spain tomorrow, where they will play games against Dundee and Peterborough.
