A Christmas attraction designed by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has closed after just one day following complaints from visitors. The Magical Journey, near Sutton Coldfield, was apparently plagued by long queues; its toys were “cheap”, customers said, and there was a distinctly unmagical atmosphere at the attraction. These all contributed to its hasty closure – although its organisers say it will reopen on 26 November, when it is properly ready.
This isn’t the first winter wonderland to prove a disappointment. The Lapland New Forest attraction drew criticism back in 2008, with its brawling elves, sad-looking animals and muddy grotto.
We want to know about your least magical trip. Did you take the kids to a pantomime that hit a bum note? Set out on a family trip to Cornwall only to be caught in torrential storms? Plan to travel around the world, only to be hit with terrible food poisoning? Perhaps you booked a fancy hotel for a romantic night away but discovered bed bugs and peeling wallpaper. Tell us about your most disappointing excursion.
