The latest edition of the Collins dictionary contains the words photobomb, meme and twerking. This issue of the dictionary contains 722,000 words, including the word “adorkable” – which was voted in by Twitter users from a shortlist. While the newest words to be added into the dictionary always create a buzz, we want to know about the words you’ve learned this year that aren’t necessarily a recent creation. Have you been using the word perseverate for the first time this year? Perhaps you’ve grown fond of the insult “apple-knocker”. Maybe your vocabulary allows you to gasconade at length. Tell us the words you’ve discovered recently, and make sure to give us their meaning.
