What's within 5km of your Sydney home? Here's where you can and can't go under new COVID restrictions for parts of NSW

Residents of Greater Sydney are restricted to a 5km radius. (ABC News)

New rules for people in Greater Sydney mean they can only travel within their local government area or within 5 kilometres from their home in any direction.

The restrictions come amid an increase in community transmission that has authorities worried. The state reported 466 new cases of community transmission today.

The movement restrictions allow people to exercise, shop or engage in recreational activities in their local government area, or if outside their LGA, within 5km of home.

People in LGAs of concern must still exercise and shop within 5km of home.
