Hobart and Tasmania's southern region is now in lockdown and residents' movements have been restricted.

The three-day lockdown took effect at 6pm AEDT on Friday and is scheduled to lift at 6pm Monday.

If you live in one of the following LGAs you will need to know what's within 5 kilometres of your house: Brighton, Central Highlands, Clarence City, Derwent Valley, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Glenorchy, Hobart City, Huon Valley, Sorell, Southern Midlands, Tasman and Kingborough.

The lockdown rules state that people can only shop for essential goods or exercise within a 5km radius of their home.
