What's within 10km of your home in south-east Queensland or Sydney? Here's where you can and can't go under the latest restrictions

With the Delta COVID-19 variant spreading, south-east Queenslanders are joining millions in Sydney who are subject to new restrictions around leaving home.

People in 11 local government areas encompassing Brisbane and the Gold and Sunshine coasts will head into lockdown at 4:00pm today.

Queenslanders in the affected LGAs can only leave home for four reasons:

  • To obtain essential goods (for example, groceries and medications — but only within 10 kilometres of home).
  • To attend essential work, school, or child care.
  • To exercise with only one person who is not from your household — again only within 10km of your home.
  • To receive healthcare. This includes to care for somebody who needs assistance, to get your COVID-19 vaccination and/or to get a COVID-19 test.

Sydneysiders have also been subject to similar restrictions for the past few weeks. For most parts of Sydney, the radius is 10km, as it is in Queensland. But in eight local government areas in Sydney's south-west, the radius is 5km.

If you're in Canterbury-Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Parramatta, Georges River, Blacktown or Cumberland LGAs, you're restricted to a 5km radius. Use this map to see what's in your area.
