What’s Up With the Spotify Button in College Football 26? Here’s What We Know Right Now

College Football 26 has has introduced a plethora of new features that weren’t available in last year’s game. Some of the features aren’t nearly as readily available as others, though. One of the “hidden” features that fans have discovered early on in College Football 26 is an apparent Spotify integration that supposedly allows you to play music directly from your custom playlists.

The Spotify integration hasn’t really been talked about by EA, but there’s a button with the music app’s icon visible on the main menu screen in CFB 26. So, naturally, fans are curious about how this integration works and how they can use it to start playing their own music while dominating Road to Glory or rebuilding in Dynasty mode.

While College Football 26 has taken great strides to ensure that the menus are filled with varied song options, there’s nothing quite like listening to your own Spotify playlist. Of course, anything is better than CFB 25, where the Marching Band only played fight songs from schools. CFB 26 also features fight songs, but now the Marching Band performs real, licensed songs as well to give players some variety when spending time in the menus.

Regardless of the new song choices, the new Spotify button has sparked hope in players everywhere. Unfortunately, that hope is going to have to be put on hold for a while, as the rumored Spotify integration is not live in CFB 26 at the time of writing.

While the Spotify button is visible in the main menu, it doesn’t actually function and allow you to connect your Spotify account with the game. The good news is that this button isn’t in CFB 26 for no reason. It seems EA is working on delivering this feature, but only after the initial launch of the game.

We don’t yet have word on when the Spotify integration could go live in CFB 26, so don’t expect anything too soon. The developers are likely more worried about other issues in the game, such as the Desync Error, and will fix those first before trying to get the music app up and running.

How To Change Music in College Football 26

For those of you who still want some control over what music plays while you’re browsing the CFB 26 menus, the game does allow you to switch between all of its available songs. You can do this by holding down R3 on either PS5 or Xbox, which brings up the song selection window. Use your D-pad to browse through the songs and pick whichever one suits your fancy.

You can also connect Spotify to your console to listen to it while playing CFB 26 or any other game, for that matter. For this, you have to download the Spotify app through the PS or Microsoft Store, log into your account, and then play any song you want. Even if you then boot up CFB 26 or another game, the song from Spotify will still play.

You can change songs by going back into the Spotify app on your console or using the Spotify Connect feature on your mobile device. While this isn’t technically the Spotify integration everyone is hoping for in CFB 26, it’s not a bad workaround.

That’s all for now about the Spotify integration in College Football 26. We’ll make sure to update this guide with more details about the feature as they emerge.
