What's the best way to look after our kids over the summer holiday?

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.

This week’s question:

Any answers? My husband and I have two children, aged seven and 10. We both work full-time and find arranging cover for summer holidays a nightmare. We can take nearly three weeks off but the rest is tough; no grandparents live nearby. Any tips from other parents on getting through the holiday break without spending a fortune?
