What's opening in theaters next week

MOVIES

Opening Friday:

"Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" (PG-13): Ang Lee directs this adaptation of Ben Fountain's novel about a 19-year-old Iraq war veteran (newcomer Joe Alwyn) who recalls his battlefield experiences while being honored during the halftime show at a Thanksgiving football game in Dallas. Kristen Stewart, Vin Diesel, Garrett Hedlund, Chris Tucker and Steve Martin co-star.

"Bleed for This" (R): Miles Teller muscles up to play Vinny Pazienza, the professional boxing champ whose career was almost derailed by a car accident that broke his neck.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (PG-13): Eddie Redmayne stars as the author of one of the textbooks Harry Potter would go on to read 70 years later at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in this adaptation of J.K. Rowling's best-selling novel.

"The Edge of Seventeen" (R): Early reviews have been strong for this teenage comedy about a high school junior (Hailee Steinfeld) who tries to survive her adolescence.

In stores Tuesday:

"Finding Dory" (DVD/Blu-ray): Ellen Degeneres voices the forgetful blue tang fish in the mammoth Pixar box office hit.

"Game of Thrones Season 6" (DVD/Blu-ray): Winter finally arrives _ and brings mayhem with it _ in the sixth year of HBO's smash fantasy series.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D" (Blu-ray): Director J.J. Abrams provides a new commentary track in this re-release of the highest-grossing U.S. film in history, now in three dimensions.

"Dead Ringers" (Blu-ray): David Cronenberg's creepy 1988 drama about twin gynecologists (both played by Jeremy Irons) gets the special edition treatment courtesy of Shout Factory.
