What's opening in theaters next week

MOVIES

Opening Friday:

"Get Out" (R): Comedian Jordan Peele ("Keanu") takes a break from the funny stuff by writing and directing this horror movie about a young African-American man (Daniel Kaluuya) who visits the family of his white girlfriend (Allison Williams).

"Collide" (PG-13): A thief (Nicholas Hoult) asks a drug smuggler (Ben Kingsley) to help him protect his girlfriend (Felicity Jones) from the wrath of a mob boss (Anthony Hopkins).

"Rock Dog" (PG): Luke Wilson, Eddie Izzard and J.K. Simmons provide the voices for this animated comedy about a Tibetan Mastiff that dreams of becoming a rock star.

In stores Tuesday:

"Hacksaw Ridge" (DVD/Blu-ray/4K): Mel Gibson directs this Oscar-nominated drama about a World War II combat medic (Andrew Garfield) who fought in the Battle of Okinawa without ever touching a gun.

"Manchester By the Sea" (DVD/Blu-ray): Casey Affleck plays an emotionally alienated loner forced to reconnect with the world and raise his nephew (Lucas Hedges) after the death of his brother.

"Nocturnal Animals" (DVD/Blu-ray): Amy Adams is an art gallery owner who starts to read a novel written by her ex-husband (Jake Gyllenhaal) in director Tom Ford's violent thriller.

"Bad Santa 2" (DVD/Blu-ray): Billy Bob Thornton reprises his role as the alcoholic, foul-mouthed department store Santa Claus.
