Opening Friday:
"Kong: Skull Island" (PG-13): Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman are the latest band of explorers who wanted onto a remote island ruled by a giant ape. Don't expect the same-old, though: For one thing, the story this time takes place in the Vietnam-era 1970s.
"The Sense of an Ending" (PG-13): Jim Broadbent stars as a man haunted by his past and memories of his first love (Charlotte Rampling).
"Personal Shopper" (R): Kristen Stewart stars as the eponymous character, who also has the ability to speak with dead people.
