What's open this Easter break?

SHOPPING CENTRES 

Charlestown, Kotara, Marketown, Glendale and Green Hills shopping centres are closed on Good Friday March 29.

On Sunday March 31, all centres are closed except for Marketown West Coles, which is open from 7am - 10pm, and local stores in the centre will have variable times.

  • Charlestown: Saturday March 30, open from 9am to 5pm, Monday April 1, open from 10am to 4pm.
  • Kotara: Saturday March 30, open from 9am to 5pm, Monday April 1, open from 10am to 4pm.
  • Marketown: Saturday March 30 and Monday April 1, Woolworths is open from 7am to 10pm and Coles from 7am to 10p. Speciality stores are open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday March 30 and from 9am to 4pm on Monday April 1 (times can vary).
  • Glendale: Saturday March 30, open from 9am to 5pm, Monday April 1, open from 10 am to 4pm.
  • Green Hills: Saturday March 30, open from 9am to 5pm, Monday April 1, open from 10 am to 4pm.

COUNCILS

NEWCASTLE

  • City Administration Centre: Closed from 5pm Thursday March 28 to 8:30am Tuesday April 2.
  • Customer Service Centre (phone): Closed 5pm Thursday March 28 to Tuesday April 2.
  • Waste collection: Operating as usual.
  • Summer Hill tip: Closed on Friday March 29, open from 9am to 2.45pm on weekends and Monday April 1.
  • Beaches and Ocean Baths: Patrolled as usual.
  • Libraries: Closed from Friday March 29 through to Monday April 1. Regular hours resume on Tuesday April 2.
  • Blackbutt Reserve: Reserves and playgrounds are open as usual. Wildlife exhibits and the park office are closed on Friday March 29.
  • Newcastle Museum: Closed on Friday March 29.
  • Fort Scratchley: Closed on Friday March 29.

LAKE MACQUARIE

  • Administration building: Closed on Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, re-opens on Tuesday April 2.
  • Works depot: Closed Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, re-opens Tuesday April 2.
  • Awaba waste facility: Open from 8am to 4pm from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1.
  • Beaches: Patrolled as usual.
  • Pools: Closed Friday March 29, open Saturday March 30, closed Sunday March 31, and Monday April 1, public holiday trading hours.
  • Libraries: Closed from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, re-opens on Tuesday April 2.

MAITLAND

  • Administration building: Closed Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, re-opens April 2.
  • Waste collection: Regular hours.
  • Libraries: Closed from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1, re-opens on April 2.
  • Pools: Closed on Friday March 29, open on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 March, and Monday April 1 from 8am to 4pm.
  • Maitland resource recovery facility: Closed Friday March 29.
  • Maitland Regional Art Gallery: Closed Friday March 29, open Saturday March 30 from 9am to 4pm, and closed Sunday March 31 and Monday April 1. Re-opens on April 2.

CESSNOCK

  • Administration building: Closed Friday March 29 until Tuesday April 2 9am.
  • Cessnock Waste Management Centre: Closed on Friday March 29, open from 8.45am to 4.30pm on all other days.
  • Cessnock & Kurri Kurri Libraries: Closed Friday March 29 until Tuesday April 2.
  • Performance Arts Culture Cessnock: Closed Friday March 29 until 10am Tuesday April 2. Bookings still available online.
  • General waste collection: Regular Friday kerbside service delayed by one day, collected on Saturday March 30.
  • Recycling and green waste collection: As normal.

PORT STEPHENS

  • Administration building: Closed from Thursday March 28 at 5pm until Tuesday April 2 8.30am.
  • Libraries: Closed from Friday March 29 to Monday April 1.
  • Pools: Closed Friday March 29 to Monday April 1.
  • Salamander Bay Waste Transfer Station: Open from 7.15am to 3:30pm Thursday March 28, closed Friday March 29 to Sunday March 31, re-opening on Monday 1 April.
