What's open in other EU countries with the same vaccine rates as Ireland - from packed stadiums to concerts

As the vaccine rollout continues across Europe, we take a look at what is open in other European countries with a similar vaccination rate to Ireland.

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Spain, Denmark, France, Germany and Italy all have similar vaccination rates to Ireland.

However, the majority of these countries have decided to ease restrictions such as indoor dining and gatherings, which remain in place in Ireland.

Here is a look at what is open in other EU countries:

Spain

Restaurants, bars and cafes are permitted to open from 6am to 1am, with indoor and outdoor dining allowed.

Nightclubs and other late-night venues are allowed to open until 3am with a maximum capacity of 50% indoors and 75% outdoors.

Cultural venues are allowed to operate at 75%, and shows and concerts must finish before 1am.

Denmark

The use of a coronavirus passport and the avoidance of a third wave in Denmark has allowed the Danes to open up much quicker than other EU counties.

Football fans are now allowed into stadiums with bars, restaurants and museums all open to those who have a coronavirus passport.

Indoor dining and theatres, concert halls and cinemas are all open in Germany, provided that you show proof of a negative Covid test.

Fairs and festivals are allowed to take place, with outdoor dance events permitted up to 250 negatively tested visitors.

German residents can be tested for free at least once a week with a rapid test.

Italy

Bars, pubs, restaurants are open with no limit on the number of people at a table outdoors and a limit of six non-cohabiting people indoors.

Outdoor and indoor sporting events can take place, as well as trade fairs, conferences and congresses.
