What's on this weekend in Dublin? 7 best things to do in the city

Another weekend is upon us and while 8pm closures for bars, restaurants and other hospitality businesses remain in place for the time being, there are still plenty of intriguing and fun things happening in the city this weekend.

From boozy brunches to tours to fitness events, here are seven great things happening in Dublin this weekend.

Nostalgic 90s hip hop brunch at The Wiley Fox

Food, tunes and 90s nostalgia is what to expect when heading along to The Wiley Fox on Eden Quay this weekend as Nueve launches this Saturday, January 22.

Tickets cost €27.55 per person and that price includes a full hour of bottomless signature cocktails and a special brunch menu from Bosh Burger.

Plus, top Irish DJs Tara Kumar and Uncle Lui will be providing the tunes.

Food Tour of The Liberties

Married couple Kevin and Aoife Adams combine their love of Irish food and local history to bring us a walking food tour of Dublin 8 and the city centre.

The pair, who met while working at The Guinness Storehouse, aim to introduce Dubs and visitors to the city to the best of Irish flavours and ingredients while deep diving into the rich history of the places they visit along the way.

Dumplings Masterclass at Warehouse Food Market

This Saturday, January 22 at 4.30pm, Holly Dalton hosts a Dumplings Masterclass at Warehouse Food Market in Dublin 12.

The hands on class will teach you everything you need to know about making these delicious savoury treats at home.

Holly, who you might know from regular appearances on The Claire Byrne Show, has an impressive 15 years of cooking experience behind her, meaning she is more than qualified to give you the best tips and tricks you can use to become the ultimate dinner party host.

Junior Park Run in Finglas

Finglas' first ever Junior Park Run takes place this Sunday, January 23 at 11am in Mellowes Park.

Park Runs, which take place all over the city, are normally 5km in length but this special event dedicated to kids aged 4 to 14 will be 2km in length.

Organiser Stephen Keeler told Dublin Live that the event is free to take part in, and parents can register their kids here.

Dine at Taco Libre Mexican Restaurant

A brand new Mexican bar and restaurant opened on Capel Street last weekend and has already proved to be quite popular with hungry Dubs.

Serving Mexican favourites such as tacos, nachos and small plates, as well as signature cocktails and craft beers, Taco Libre is yet another addition to the city's bustling food scene from Galway Bay Brewery, a group that also runs bars including Beer Temple and The Black Sheep.

Visit Chapters before it closes

One of the city's most beloved bookshops is set to close after 40 years in business on Parnell Street.

The popular store will close up shop on January 31, they confirmed this week

"We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the next two weeks," owners William and Ger Kinsella wrote on social media.

Women of Ireland Walking Tour

A cultural experience with a difference comes in the form of the Women of Ireland Walking Tour organised by Unearthed Tours.

Recognising that many of the historical tales of rebellion and advancement that we hear are of men, this tour celebrates and explores the lives and stories of some of the women who had profound effects on Irish history.
