Russian opposition leader, dissident, Kremlin critic – Alexey Navalny is known by many titles.

Some see him as one of the few people who can unite opponents against President Vladimir Putin. But nowadays, he is limited to speaking his mind in court or in jail.

Meanwhile, his allies are disbanding as a Moscow prosecutor seeks to label his organisations “extremist”, similar to groups like al-Qaeda.

What’s next for Russia’s opposition movement, as well as supporters who had pinned their hopes on Navalny?

Presenter: Mohammed Jamjoom

Guests:

Alexander Soloviev – Board member of Open Russia, an opposition group

Michael Bociurkiw – Global affairs analyst and former spokesman for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe

Maria Lipman – Senior associate at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian studies at George Washington University
