In a year punctuated by toxic chemistry crises – including the Flint River scandal and large-scale water pollution in upstate New York – green chemistry offers an increasingly relevant route toward a healthier, more sustainable society. The Guardian Green Chemistry Conference will explore the green chemistry advances that are improving our world, and the innovative partnerships and funding tools that are making them possible.

What to expect

Now in its second year, the Guardian Green Chemistry Conference, supported by SC Johnson, is an opportunity for green chemistry experts to share their efforts to propel green chemistry forward, move it into the mainstream, advance America’s chemistry policy, and transform the chemical landscape.

At the conference, leaders from industry, academia and nonprofits will work together to discuss the current state of the industry and share ideas for increasing its innovations and widespread adoption.

The event – taking place at The New York Academy of Sciences, one of New York’s LEED-certified green buildings – will include workshops addressing specific challenges at every step of the supply chain: research and development, product lifecycle and marketing and communications.
