THE VOYEUR'S MOTEL, by Gay Talese. In 1980, just before publishing "Thy Neighbor's Wife," Talese was contacted by Gerald Foos, a voyeuristic Colorado motel owner who routinely spied on his guests. Talese visited Foos and the motel, and read Foos' written reports of what he saw _ including, he said, a murder. The resulting book has already stirred a controversy, after discrepancies were found in Foos' accounts. (Grove Press, $25)
YOU'LL GROW OUT OF IT, by Jessi Klein. The head writer of "Inside Amy Schumer" on Comedy Central gets a star turn of her own with this collection of 24 comic essays. SARONG PARTY GIRLS, by Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan. In the spirit of Kevin Kwan's "Crazy Rich Asians" comes this novel set in Singapore and narrated by Jazzy, a 27-year-old determined to land a wealthy white expat husband and have a Eurasian child _ or "Chanel baby" in the local parlance. The novel is full of such colorful "Singlish," the Singaporean patois of English, Malay, Mandarin and other tongues. (William Morrow, $25.99)
