What's new on Netflix UK this February from star-studded romcoms to chilling true crime

January may finally be over, but we still have some way to go before we can look forward to hotter days and longer nights - meaning it's the perfect time for a Netflix binge.

The streaming giant is introducing more than two dozen new series, films and documentaries to UK subscribers in February, and there's bound to be something for everyone to enjoy in the range from Valentine's Day romcoms to edge-of-your-seat thrillers. There are returning favourites to look forward to including new seasons of You, Outer Banks and The Upshaws, as well as plenty of brand new offerings from chilling true crime documentaries to dating shows perfect for Love Island fans.

There are also documentaries for sport lovers in the mix spanning everything from basketball to Formula 1, and over in the film section there's a star-studded romcom to look forward to with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. Here are all the new shows coming to Netflix UK this February.

Series

You - The popular series starring Penn Badgley is back for its fourth season, which sees serial killer Joe Goldberg hide out in England as a professor using a fake name - but can he escape his murderous past? Part one of the fourth season is out this month, but fans will have to wait until March for the second part. February 9

My Dad The Bounty Hunter - This animated adventure follows the hyper-space adventures of two kids who discover their seemingly average dad is actually an intergalactic bounty hunter, leading to the family dodging aliens and lasers in an epic series that's fun for all the family. February 9

The Law According To Lidia Poet - Set in Turin in the late 1800s, this series tells the story of Italy's first female lawyer as she assists criminal suspects by searching for the truth behind outward appearances, leading her into the dark underbelly of the city. February 15

In Love All Over Again - A nostalgic tale about the love and friendship that blooms while you're trying to find your place in the world, this series follows Irene who comes to Madrid to become a film director. It's there that she meets Julio, a man who would be the perfect lead role for both her films and her life - but it turns out life has other plans. February 14

Love To Hate You - Another romantic comedy landing just in time for Valentine's Day, this series is about a woman who hates losing to men and a man who distrusts women, who find that the line between love and hate is a thin one - and that sometimes love is absolute war. February 10

The Exchange - Inspired by real events, this series follows two women Farida and Munira as they set out to pioneer the cut-throat stock market of 1980s Kuwait and disrupt its corrupt boys' club along the way. February 8

Freeridge - A coming-of-age comedy consisting of eight 30-minute episodes that follows sibling rivals Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron, who have unleashed a curse that has brought misfortune into their lives. February 2

Outer Banks - Season three of this adventure series, which sees a teenager enlist the help of his friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance, finds the group washed up on a desert island before once again being caught up in a race for the gold. February 23

Community Squad - This new comedy is centred around a patrol squad created by the police force as a marketing ploy to improve their image. But while everyone is trying to get their heads around exactly what the squad does, they unwittingly stumble upon an unusual criminal gang. February 17

The Upshaws - Season three of this comedy follows well-intentioned mechanic Bennie, his wife Regina and four kids as they continue to navigate life's ups and downs from new jobs to health struggles. February 16

Make My Day - This animated sci-fi series from acclaimed manga author Yasuo Ohtagaki sees humans and a mysterious lifeform battle it out on an ice planet. February 2

Aggretsuko - The fifth and final season of this anime series depicts the daily life of officer worker Retsuko, who copes with her frustrations with her boss and co-workers by belting out death metal. In this season, after Haida quits his job, he is forced out of his apartment and begins living in an internet café. February 16

Films

Your Place Or Mine - Starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, this romcom follows best friends Debbie and Peter who decide to swap houses and lives for a week. While Debbie craves routine and Peter thrives on change, the swap leads the pair to discover that what they want may not be what they really need. February 10

10 Days Of A Good Man - Set to be adapted into three films from a book trilogy, 10 Days will tell the story of Sadik - a man who turns from an ordinary person into an anti-hero while searching for answers to some of life's greatest questions: What's the use of being a good person? And if you're willing to get your hands dirty for justice, does that make you a bad person? February 10

True Spirit - Based on a true story, this film tells the tale of Jessica Watson and her epic challenge taking on the ocean as she set out to be the youngest person to sail solo around the world over the course of 210 days. February 3

Unlocked - This gripping thriller tells the story of an ordinary women who finds her life spiralling out of control when she loses her phone containing all her personal information and it falls into the hands of a hacker. February 17

We Have A Ghost - Members of a family become overnight social media sensations after finding a ghost haunting their new home - but when they team up with the ghost to investigate the mystery of his past, they become a target of the CIA. February 24

Infiesto - This thriller follows two detectives who are called to a small mining town when a woman who has been missing for years suddenly reappears. Set at the start of the Covid pandemic, the detectives soon realise that the virus may not be the only dark force at work. February 3

Reality/Documentary

Perfect Match - This reality series brings together the most famously single stars from other Netflix series including Love Is Blind, Too Hot To Handle, The Ultimatum and more in a tropical paradise to help them find love. As the contestants compete to couple up, the aim of the game is to break up other couples as new singles are invited into the villa - creating chaos before one couple is ultimately crowned the Perfect Match. February 14

Too Hot To Handle: Germany - Fans of the UK series can get their fix in the German version of the popular reality show, which sees singletons battle it out in a tropical paradise for the grand prize with just one condition - they have to give up sex. February 28

Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal - This true crime three-part documentary tells the story of one of South Carolina's most prominent families whose legacy unravelled following the death of a teenager. When Paul Murdaugh and his mother Maggie are found brutally murdered, a century of cover-ups and corruption is brought to light. February 22

Gunther's Millions - This four-part documentary follows the luxurious life of German Shepherd Gunther, a multi-millionaire pup who travels on private planes and eats gold-flaked steaks for dinner. The series aims to uncover the complicated truth of how the dog came to be so wealthy, investigating the popular legend that Gunther's great-grandfather was owned by a mysterious countess who bequeathed her beloved dog her entire fortune. February 1

Bill Russell: Legend - The incredible life and legacy of the late Bill Russell is captured in this two-part film, which features the last interview with the NBA superstar and civil rights icon prior to his death last year. From award-winning director Sam Pollard, the documentary features exclusive interviews with Bill's family and friends to tell his remarkable story. February 8

Formula 1: Drive To Survive - The fifth season of this Formula 1 series once again takes fans behind the scenes to see first-hand how drivers and teams prepare to battle it out for the racing championship through exclusive interviews and footage from some of the biggest names in the sport. February 24

Full Swing - This immersive documentary series follows a group of professional golfers on and off the course throughout a relentless season of competition, including some of the biggest events in the golfing world from the Masters Tournament to the US Open. February 15

African Queens: Njinga - From executive producer Jada Pinkett Smith comes a new documentary series exploring the lives of iconic African queens, with the first season telling the story of 17th-century warrior queen Njinga. February 15
