What’s New on ChatGPT? 4 Updates You Shouldn’t Miss

OpenAI has rolled out a bunch of new features. It includes a new built-in shopping experience, trending topics, better citations, and more. Some of these features make ChatGPT a direct rival to the search giant Google. So, let’s take a closer look at what OpenAI’s latest features look like:

Shopping Now Built Into ChatGPT

OpenAI has introduced a new shopping feature into ChatGPT. The new shopping function will show product details, including price and image. It will also show a review of the product and provide a buying link.

Importantly, OpenAI clarified that product results are selected independently and are not advertisements, which is a big difference when we compare it with Google.

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT’s search function is one of its fastest-growing tools, clocking over 1 billion web searches in just the past week. Building on that momentum, the platform is rolling out autocomplete suggestions and trending searches. The autocomplete feature is said to improve the search experience, while the trending topics will show what others are looking for right now.

Both of these features are quite popular on Google search as well. The inclusion of these tools into ChatGPT signals that the Sam Altman-led AI behemoth is trying to compete with the largest search engine in the world.

ChatGPT Now on WhatsApp

In order to reach broader users, OpenAI has rolled out ChatGPT support on the world’s most used instant messaging app. Users can now send a message to +1-800-242-8478 to get instant answers, live sports updates, and more from ChatGPT. This allows users to get help without needing to open a separate app or browser.

Improved Citations with Highlights

ChatGPT now includes multiple citations for a single answer. It allows users to verify facts from more than one source and see exactly which part of the response each citation supports, thanks to a new highlight UI. This makes it easier to trust and cross-check information directly inside the app.

All these features are already available for users, including Free, Plus, Pro, and even those not logged in. If you have not received any of these features yet, don’t worry. The features are still rolling out and will be available to all users in the coming days.
