What's new: Books by Anna Quindlen, Nell Scovell and Beate and Serge Klarsfeld

'ALTERNATE SIDE,' by Anna Quindlen. Yes, the new novel from the author of "Miller's Valley" and "Still Life with Bread Crumbs" is about New York City parking _ and other hot-button issues on a white-collar block of Manhattan's Upper West Side. The trouble begins when a wealthy white lawyer attacks a Latino handyman with a golf club for blocking access to a parking lot. (Random House, $28)

'JUST THE FUNNY PARTS ... And a Few Hard Truths About Sneaking into the Hollywood Boys' Club,' by Nell Scovell. She's not a household name, but for 30 years Scovell has written, directed or produced some of TV's most iconic shows, including "The Simpsons," "Late Night with David Letterman," "Murphy Brown," "NCIS" and "Newhart," and she created "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." (Dey St., $27.99)

'HUNTING THE TRUTH: Memoirs of Beate and Serge Klarsfeld,' translated by Sam Taylor. This married team of Nazi hunters, who grew up in Germany and in France in the 1930s and '40s, tell their story in a joint autobiography. Their biggest prize: Klaus Barbie, the "butcher of Lyon," whom the Klarsfelds discovered living in Bolivia decades after the war. (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, $30)
