Which prizes for science net winners more than the $1.35m America's Got Talent prize?

Winning a prestigious award in science, maths or technology will earn you roughly the same cash prize as if you won a US reality television show in 2018 — and that's if you're lucky.

It comes with $CA15,000 (around $AU15,600).

Before the currency was abandoned, the cash prize was worth less than 1 cent.

The exception is the Breakthrough Prizes. Bankrolled by internet and technology entrepreneurs, each prize nets laureates a cool $US3 million ($4.06 million).
