What's happening behind the doors of former Jamie's Italian in Nottingham

It's just over a year since Jamie's Italian in Nottingham closed its doors after the celebrity chef's restaurant chain went into administration.

But behind the facade of the stunning Grade II listed building, in Low Pavement, there's something magical afoot.

It has now been revealed that the grounds at the back of the former restaurant are the location of the city's new Magic Garden.

This summer the hidden from public view garden will become the setting for drinking cocktails and beers.

The creative minds behind The Hockley Arts Club, Das Kino and Penny Lane are behind the venture.

Work is underway to transform the garden into a magical hideaway ready for opening on Saturday July 4.

They've promised: "Step through a secret doorway with a sense of wonder to a hidden oasis of tropical plant-life, vibrant colours & beautiful surprises around every corner.

"Sun-soaked all day long, you can enjoy bespoke cocktails, fizzy delights and delicious treats at a truly unmissable summer experience in the idyllic gardens of a Grade-II listed former Georgian Townhouse in the heart of Nottingham's Lace Market.

"Find our secret & escape reality as we take you to another world this summer."

The garden will be open from noon to 11pm. There's no need to book - tables will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
