What's happened to Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman after training ground fight

Niko Kovac has confirmed Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman became embroiled in a training ground punch-up on Thursday.

But the Bayern Munich boss has revealed that neither of the attacking duo will face any action from the club.

Lewandowski, 30, and Coman, 22, argued and traded blows at Sabener Strasse during a training exercise.

Polish striker Lewandowski initially let rip at French teammate Coman for not taking the session seriously.

Things soon became heated when Coman took exception to his comment, with the winger striking the No.9, who responded with a punch of his own.

Defensive pair Niklas Sule and Jerome Boating initially separated the pair, but others were forced to step in when they came together again.

Both finished the session, before heading to Kovac’s office with the Croatian immediately after for discussions over the incident.

"There was a fight between two players who were named in the media," Kovac said at his Friday press conference.

"The three of us discussed it after training, and both apologised for their behaviour and were sorry for what happened.

"No one is being fined because both players were understanding, and being understanding is very important now. The matter is done and dusted."

Asked the reason for the incident, Kovac added: "Training, emotions! But you can also see it in a positive fashion. We move on.”

Bayern currently top the Bundesliga, with just six games of the season to go, having battered Borussia Dortmund 5-0 last weekend.

But questions continue to surround the relationship of Lewandowski and Coman, amid suggestions that this incident had been coming due on-field issues between the pair.

On Sunday Bayern head to Dusseldorf to face Fortuna, against whom they dropped points at the Allianz Arena back in November, as they look to move closer to a seventh successive German title.
