When listening to the shipping forecast the weather at the coastal stations is sometimes given a description. For example, Jersey might be “light rain” or Leuchars “precipitation in sight”. But I’m sure that many years ago the Ronaldsway (Isle of Man) description was “smoke”. Can anyone shed light on this?
