What Roy Hodgson has said about Wilfried Zaha & Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid interest from Man United

Roy Hodgson has admitted that Crystal Palace must remain realistic amid reported interest from Manchester United in signing Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The two Palace stars have been linked with moves away from Palace this summer, with Manchester United the latest club said to be keen on signing the pair, following reports of interest from other clubs in England and Germany in recent months, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund.

And although Hodgson insists that Palace do not want to sell either player, he has conceded that every player has his price.

“Of course, I think all clubs are in that position," said Hodgson.

Tierney, Zaha, Sessegnon and de Ligt - The latest odds on potential Arsenal summer signings

“It has been happening on a regular basis throughout the season that Wilf [Zaha] and Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] have been linked with other clubs.

“We have moved back to England, we were in Germany for a while, but we are back in England now with moves to bigger clubs in the Premier League.

“The good thing for me is one has a five-year contract, one has a four-year contract and the club is certainly in no way advertising them or promoting them as saleable objects, we would be more than happy to keep them.

“But we have to remain realistic and see what happens and if offers come in, they will obviously be assessed, as with anything else.

Roy Hodgson's brilliant response to Crystal Palace's missed chances against Huddersfield Town

“As I heard Manuel Pellegrini quite rightly say the other day, every footballer has a price. The fact that they have long contracts, that doesn’t mean their feet are nailed down to Selhurst Park or Beckenham here [at the training ground].

“But we have no interest in selling either player. Our aim, our intention and our hope is that we will start next season with both of those in our team, and if not, we will have to hope that the offers for them are sufficiently good that the club feels they were worth taking.”
