What Rivaldo has said about Mauricio Pochettino replacing Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur fans will love what Barcelona legend Rivaldo has said about the Real Madrid job.

Pressure appears to be growing on current Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane despite the team sitting atop of the La Liga table following seven games of the news.

The problem is the inconsistent results as they could only draw 2-2 with Club Brugge in the Champions League after losing 3-0 away at Paris Saint-Germain on matchday one.

All of which has prompted talk of Mauricio Pochettino replacing the Frenchman at the Santiago Bernabeu, something which Rivaldo thinks would be too soon.

"We all know that Mauricio Pochettino is a good manager and could be a nice option for Real Madrid in the future, but I don't think it's time to make that kind of move now," Rivaldo told Betfair. "Zidane is still trying to rediscover the success he achieved in his first stint at Madrid.

"Real Madrid need to focus in rebuilding their team and uniting around their current manager.

"He already won lots of competitions at Madrid, knows the club well and, despite not consolidating his system yet, I believe he has players to achieve it.

"In the 2-2 draw against Club Brugge, they weren't that bad, but ended up conceding two counterattack goals that ruined their game plan.

"But Madrid are improving and will end up finding their best form in time to fight for titles this season."

In addition, Pochettino has himself said that he has no plans to leave the north London outfit.

"That is a moment to stay all together, I accept the opinions when you don’t win, it doesn’t only happen at Tottenham, it happens in all the clubs in the world, at a different level too," he said.

"It is normal that that game creates a lot of opinion and rumours and everyone needs to talk.

"In the end all that happened is that we lost a game. There is no doubt we are staying together and we are going to find the way to be successful again, no doubt.

"In five and a half years, in every single press conference we’re talking about my future. I hope that we’re still talking it means we’re going to spend five more years at least."
