RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano impressed after his side held Bayern Munich to a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena on Sunday.
The result keeps Leipzig second in the Bundesliga table, only a point behind Bayern, and means Julian Nagelsmann's side remain well in the hunt for the title.
Upamecano was one of Leipzig's star performers on the day, helping to subdue the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry.
football.london understands the Gunners have been long-time admirers of Upamecano, and were interested in signing the centre-back in January.
Reports also claimed that that the north London club made a £40million bid last summer for the 21-year-old, but the Gunners were put off by a hefty price tag, instead signing William Saliba, who immediately went back on loan to Saint Etienne.
Upamecano has also been linked to Tottenham, Manchester City and Bayern, with Arsenal set to face stiff competition for the highly-rated centre back if they decide to make a future move.
Indeed two Arsenal fans have already told Gunners head of football Raul Sanllehi what they think about Upamecano.
In a video posted on Twitter by user @tikitakaconnor in December, the two Arsenal supporters are seen at the Emirates Stadium in what appears to be one of the executive boxes.
One of the fans walks up to Sanllehi with a picture of the Leipzig defender on their phone, and can be heard telling the Arsenal chief: "Very good player, very good player."
Sanllehi, smiling, responds with: "I know."
