Loan duo Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones have been praised by their new clubs after leaving Rangers - with one boss admitting he was shocked to be able sign one of the fringe stars.
Delighted Oxford manager Karl Robinson lauded the ‘incredible talent’ of ex- Hibs man Barker after snapping up the 24-year-old on transfer deadline day.
Barker joined the the League One side on loan for the rest of the season having made to just 13 appearances for the Premiership leaders during this campaign.
Robinson revealed that Barker was top January of his signing wishlist — but he was convinced that it would remain a pipe-dream.
He said: “Brandon’s an incredible talent – I’m really shocked we got this one done.
“I didn’t think he was ever within our reach.
“Brandon was No.1 on our list, but the one we thought we weren’t going to get.
“In the last three or four days it escalated into a possibility.”

Meanwhile, Sunderland manager Lee Johnson singled out Ibrox outcast Jordan Jones - another deadline day departure on loan - following his quick-fire debut in the Black cats’ 3-0 win over MK Dons on Tuesday night.
Johnson said: “I was pleased to get Jordan [Jones] minutes. I thought he started really well and was bright.”
