What Prince Harry has said about he and Meghan attending coronation as plans unveiled

The eyes of the world will be on London on May 6, when King Charles is officially crowned nearly eight months after becoming King.

He's had a rocky start to his time on the throne, with public attention dominated by his son Harry's allegations about life in the royal family.

The monarch's second son has had plenty to say in a Netflix series, a book and a string of TV interviews over the past couple of years.

Among the claims made in the book were that he and brother William - who is characterised as being aggressive - pleaded with Charles not to marry Camilla.

It is unclear whether he will be in attendance at the coronation of the King and Queen Consort - or even whether he'll be invited.

As expected there's been no shortage of "experts" speculating about what will happen.

During an interview with Tom Bradby on ITV, Harry was asked if he will come to the coronation if he is invited, and he said: "There's a lot that can happen between now and then.

"But, you know, the door is always open. The - the ball is in their court.

"There's a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they can - that they are willing to sit down and talk about it, because there's a lot that's happened in six years.

"And prior to that as well."

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph earlier this year, Harry acknowledged that his family would find it hard to forgive his betrayal.

He said: “Some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway. But the way I see it is, I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done.”

Harry told The Telegraph : "When you're trying to change an institution, and fundamentally the media landscape, that is not a small task.

"The scale of the challenge is enormous, and I have to be able to protect myself mentally and emotionally throughout that process."

He added he doesn't understand why it is considered "shocking and outrageous" for him to share his story.

Harry vowed to continue "the good fight" in standing up for his wife Meghan Markle "and other women".

Paul Burrell has claimed Prince Harry will likely turn down an invite to his father King Charles' coronation, after his bombshell memoir Spare.

The former royal butler claimed Harry would be "a hypocrite" to attend the congregation, suggesting he had been "trying to dismantle the monarchy" with his recent interviews and claims.

He said: "If it keeps escalating like this there will never be a reconciliation because why would William or the King trust a boy who has come into their world, left that world and is then telling stories about that world."
