The Premier League have announced key dates for the 2023/24 season, with the campaign commencing on Saturday 12 August 2023. Manchester United began the 2022/23 season earlier than normal this term, losing 2-0 against Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday 7 August, with the Premier League campaign beginning early because of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The current season also ends later than usual, with United 's Premier League campaign ending against Fulham on Sunday 28 May.
However, the Premier League will return to the dates that have become commonplace next year, with the final match round of the campaign due to be played on Sunday 19 May 2024, when all matches will kick off simultaneously as usual.

That means the season will return to 'normal' following the pandemic and the World Cup, which have caused fixture issues.
The 2023/24 schedule, which was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, also provides for a return of the mid-season player break, which will take place between 13-20 January, while the ending in mid-May will provide players with substantial rest.
United are not expected to invest in the January transfer window, with the club instead focussing on next summer.
Unless something goes wrong, that will be Erik ten Hag's second summer at Old Trafford ahead of the 2023/24 season.
