Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cut a frustrated figure during Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
The Gunners broke the deadlock shortly before half-time as Gabriel Martinelli got on the end of Bukayo Saka's cross to score his second Premier League goal of the season and ninth across all competitions this season.
But just like against Crystal Palace a week ago, all three points evaded Mikel Arteta's side.
John Fleck equalised with seven minutes to go meaning the north London outfit stay 10th in the Premier League table, although they are now 10 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea ahead of the meeting between the two sides on Tuesday night.
Aubameyang will miss the London derby at Stamford Bridge as he will be serving the second of his three-game suspension following his red card - and unsuccessful appeal - in the draw against the Eagles.
In his absence, Alexandre Lacazette was named captain against the Blades.
However, that extra responsibility wasn't the catalyst for the Frenchman to break his goal drought which now stands at seven games across all competitions.
Furthermore, the captain's armband didn't spare Lacazette from being withdrawn in the 74th minute as he was replaced by Eddie Nketiah - making his first appearance since his Leeds United loan spell was terminated earlier than expected.
In truth, the Gunners no.9 wasn't having his best game and the substitution prompted a reaction from Aubameyang who was watching events from the stands at the Emirates Stadium.
As spotted by @AubaSZN on Twitter, Aubameyang clearly felt some sympathy for his strike partner.
Upon realising that Lacazette is the player being withdrawn, the Gunners skipper gestures
Speaking ahead of the game, Aubameyang said he was confident that his teammates could get results in his absence.
"I hate having to watch and not being able to lead the side out, but I have got all the confidence this team can get results without me," the club captain said.
"As we showed last weekend, we are very dangerous up front and we have quality players to come in, we have got plenty of goals in the team still."
