What Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi did in Sokratis' return to Arsenal training

Sokratis Papastathopoulos is back for Arsenal and a few of his teammates couldn't be more happier.

The 31-year-old has returned to full training after missing a couple of games because of illness and is set to be in contention for an immediate recall to the starting line-up for the FA Cup fourth round tie against Bournemouth on Monday night.

With David Luiz out of the game at the Vitality Stadium because of suspension, Sokratis' availability is certainly a massive boost to Mikel Arteta who doesn't have many central defenders to call upon.

It remains to be seen if he sticks with Shkodran Mustafi at centre-back against the Cherries or brings Sokratis - or Rob Holding - back into the side.

Whatever decision the Gunners head coach makes, his no.5 looks ready for action.

Sokratis' return to training was captured by the club's cameras.

In a 'Behind The Scenes' video of the Arsenal squad in the gym which was uploaded to the club's official Youtube account, there's a brilliant moment which captures the team spirit

At around the 2.28 mark Sokratis steps forward to test his strength and he's being cheered on by captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah, Matteo Guendouzi, Bukayo Saka, Joe Willock and a couple of fitness coaches.

Aubameyang and Guendouzi in particular are leading the encouragement for the Greek defender.

And after Sokratis successfully completes the task he is immediately congratulated by his teammates who celebrate as if the centre-half scored the winning goal in a cup final.

Sokratis doesn't exactly have fond memories of the Vitality Stadium.

When the Gunners drew there on Boxing Day a month ago he was forced off in the second half with a concussion that saw him miss the reverse game against Chelsea before the new year.

But he's available to reclaim his place at the heart of Arsenal's defence.

Although, Gunners legend Nigel Winterburn has suggested Granit Xhaka is an option in the position.

"I think it's obvious that Arsenal do have a lot of problems particularly at centre-half," Winterburn said in an interview with Gambling.com. "At the moment, everyone is trying to second-guess what Arsenal are going to do.

"Will they buy a centre-half? Will they go for a full-back? Or a holding midfield player?

"I've got to say, I thought Xhaka was outstanding when he went back to centre-half at Stamford Bridge, maybe there's the option to play him there again and see how things go."
