What Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette did after Arsenal’s draw with Rangers

Arsenal’s two main frontmen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were spotted enjoying the Formula 1 and sunshine at Silverstone in the aftermath of the Gunners’ 2-2 pre-season draw with Rangers.

The Gunners pair have had a difficult start to pre-season, with Aubameyang in particular struggling for form in front of goal after returning from his summer break.

Arsenal’s captain will be hopeful of a better 2021/22 campaign after a rather indifferent 2020/21 season in which he only managed 15 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.

However, against Rangers, Aubameyang missed as many as three big chances to get on the scoresheet as he fired over the bar from close range, should have done better with Cedric Soares' cross before somehow seeing an effort blocked by a defender on the goalline.

Lacazette, on the other hand, who’s future at the Emirates remains uncertain considering he has just one-year left on his current contract, came on at half-time against Rangers but failed to find the net.

That being said, as it’s only pre-season, there’s no need to panic just yet, and finding time to relax could be the best thing to help Arsenal’s best two goalscorer’s recharge.

And that’s exactly what they did on Sunday, as the pair watched Lewis Hamilton triumph on home-soil despite having a 10-second penalty after Championship leader, Max Verstappen, crashed out on lap one after a coming together with the Englishman.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that a day out is exactly what their star strikers needed as Mikel Arteta’s side continue their preparation for the new Premier League season which kicks off on August 13 when the Gunners make the short trip to across London to play Brentford.

Next up for Arteta’s men is a trip to the USA where they will play Serie A giants Inter Milan, as well as Everton and Millonarios in the Florida Cup.
