What Philippe Coutinho has reportedly told team-mates as ex-Liverpool man edges closer to summer transfer

Philippe Coutinho has reportedly told team-mates he wants to leave Barcelona this summer having struggled to settle at the Nou Camp since his club-record move from Liverpool.

With just four goals and two assists to his name so far this season, the 26-year-old has been limited to 16 La Liga starts with the majority of his recent starts coming as a result of injuries to Ousmane Dembele.

Meanwhile, Coutinho was jeered by home supporters  in the Catalan giants' 3-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano earlier this month, while Gerard Pique was forced to publicly back the playmaker following his below-par performances.

Despite his recent struggles, the former Liverpool man started for Brazil in their both their games against Panama and Czech Republic during the March international break.

And Sport claim the Brazilian told his compatriots during the break he has decided to leave Barcelona this summer, explaining: "I know that it is a difficult decision, but it can be the best thing for my career."
