Mikel Arteta says working alongside Pep Guardiola has given him a taste of Marcelo Bielsa's methods.
Arteta's Arsenal side take on Bielsa's Leeds United this afternoon in a second clash between the two managers following last season's FA Cup tie.
The Arsenal boss has not had much interaction with Bielsa but says he is knowledgeable about the Leeds manager's methods due to working under Guardiola at Manchester City.
Guardiola took a trip to South America when transitioning from playing to coaching in order to learn from Bielsa and has been a big fan of the Argentine ever since.
Arteta says it has left those who work with Guardiola well-aware of the high-esteem he holds Bielsa in as a manager.
The Arsenal boss also praised the way Bielsa has transformed Leeds since coming to Elland Road, leading them to promotion back to the Premier League last season.
He said: “I haven’t spent any time with Marcelo but I know many players who have and one of my best friends spent many, many years with him.
“So I know a lot about his methods, who he is as a person, who he is as a manager as well and I have admired him for many, many years.
“I have followed his work, his ways of playing, the way he is able to change a football club immediately with his mentality and the messages he sends, with his personality, his charisma.
“And I’ve been very impressed with what he has done in England since he joined Leeds.
“He has transformed the club.
“He has transformed the belief of everyone around the club, the supporters, that they could come back and be the club they were a few years back.”
