What people of Nottinghamshire said about new NHS coronavirus tracing app

People of Nottinghamshire have described their experiences using the new NHS coronavirus tracing app.

More than one million people downloaded NHS Covid-19 within its first day of release earlier this week.

It tells users to self-isolate for 14 days if it detects they were near someone with the virus.

With a check-in scanner, it also alerts owners of a venue they have visited is found to be in an outbreak area.

A problem preventing users registering a positive test result has been sorted.

Readers of Nottinghamshire Live described their experiences in using it.

One wrote: "Downloaded it then turned off Bluetooth. I'm WFH (working from home) so only places I go are school playground and supermarket so never am 15 mins with someone I don't know to cause it to trigger! Bluetooth kills the battery on my phone!"

"It's very good, happy to use to keep myself and my loved ones safer," wrote a second.

"It has its flaws, but track and trace, when done well, as in other countries, stops the spread," added a third reader.

"We all want life to get back to normal asap. This is another tool to do so."

"It's easy. It tells me the risk level where I live and it will also tell me if I've been in contact with any known positives," wrote another.
