What Pablo Mari told an Arsenal supporter after arriving in Dubai for warm-weather training

Pablo Mari has said that he can't wait to make his debut for Arsenal.

The 26-year-old was one of two arrivals at the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window, signing on loan until the end of the season from Brazilian outfit Flamengo.

A lack of match sharpness counted against Mari as he was left out of the squad at the weekend as the Gunners drew 0-0 at Burnley in the Premier League.

What Arsenal need to do during the winter break

However, he is with some members of the Arsenal squad for the warm-weather training camp in Dubai which officially gets underway on Thursday and lasts until next Tuesday.

Despite being a relatively lowkey player, Mari was spotted out and about in Dubai this week.

Via Reddit, an Arsenal supporter has revealed that he bumped into Mari in Dubai and that the defender was very humbled to be recognised and said he was excited to start playing.

Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta has already spoken about Mari being a left-footer as a key reason for bringing his compatriot to north London last month.

"For me it's very important [Mari being left footed]," Arteta said on Friday during his pre-Burnley press conference.

"He balances what I want to do from the backline.

"He gives us more options, more solutions and opens up the pitch more.

"He is a player we have been following for a couple of months that we are very happy to have."

Mari is one of four Arsenal players using the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai.

A post via Nas_Sc's official Instagram reads: "Jammed packed morning this morning. We welcomed players from @arsenal, @chelseafc and @manchesterunited."

Having not played since the Club World Cup Championship final defeat by Liverpool in December, the Spaniard is using the facilities to improve his fitness ahead of the Newcastle game.
