What Pablo Mari and Gabriel Martinelli did immediately after Arsenal's 1-0 win over West Ham

It's almost a week since Arsenal were last in action.

Wednesday night's postponed Premier League fixture against Manchester City means the Gunners would have had a full week to prepare for trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion before that was postponed.

A game Mikel Arteta's side would have gone into on the back of a 1-0 win over West Ham United.

Alexandre Lacazette's late goal made it three straight wins in the Premier League for the north London outfit as they look to keep pace with Chelsea and Manchester United in the race for a top-four finish.

The London derby at the Emirates Stadium was also a memorable one for Pablo Mari.

After impressing on his competitive debut for the Gunners in their 2-0 FA Cup win over Portsmouth at the beginning of the month, the Spaniard made was handed a Premier League bow against the Hammers.

And he was able to play his role in helping Arsenal keep a clean sheet - although he and the rest of the defence had goalkeeper Bernd Leno to thank for that.

To mark Mari's first Premier League match at the Emirates, Arsenal uploaded a 33 second compilation video of the central defender in action against the Hammers to their official website.

Arguably the best moment comes towards the end of the clip as Gabriel Martinelli - an unused substitute that afternoon - raced onto the pitch at the final whistle to share a warm embrace with Mari.

Presumably the Brazilian wonderkid was delighted for Mari as he summed up the defender's debut vs Pompey with a three-word message on social media.

Martinelli uploaded a picture of himself next to Mari , with the caption: 'Great debut hermano,' with a love heart emoji.

Reflected on a successful home debut, Mari thanked supporters for signing his name before kick-off.

"For me, it was an unbelievable day," Mari said. "It was a nice night for everybody and we won the game, which is the most important thing. Also my feeling on the pitch was really nice.

"With our fans, with our team, in our home, I think I had everything there to enjoy it. I enjoyed that game a lot and I hope I'm going to play the next games to feel the same with our team-mates and also for the club.

"The fans did a little bit of a song for me when I was named in the starting XI, and I'm so happy about that. This means they are feeling happy with me, with my job, so this is nice. I'm going to try to do my best in all the games, to win games, to get points. This is the most important thing, to win games, because we want to move up the table."
