Olivier Giroud's love affair with the FA Cup continued on Sunday evening.
The Chelsea striker, who has a tremendous record in the competition having won the trophy three times with Arsenal as well as once with the Blues, broke the deadlock in first-half injury time in the semi-final against Manchester United.
Making his trademark run to the near post, the 33-year-old got a deft touch on Cesar Azpilicueta's cross to get on the scoresheet.
However, just seconds earlier, Giroud cut a frustrated figure.
As the ball went out wide to Reece James, the striker appeared to be screaming for an early cross as he made a run across his marker.
The Blues wonderkid opted to retain possession instead, thus causing Giroud to throw his hands up in the air in pure frustration.
Although, it turned out fine for the west London outfit in the end as moments later the deadlock was broken.
That goal was the breakthrough the Blues needed as goals from Mason Mount and an own goal from Harry Maguire sealed a 3-1 win for the Blues.
Chelsea will now face Arsenal in the final next month.
And Giroud is relishing the opportunity to come up against his old side.
"I said to my boys in the dressing room, ‘I would love to win another one’. It would be my fifth one," he told the BBC after the game.
"Another final now, it’s gonna be another big game against Arsenal. It’s going to be so special for me, personally.
"We are very happy with the team’s performance today. We now need to focus on the Premier League.
“We want to finish top-three and win another FA Cup.
“Today, it’s been a while since we’ve played 3-4-3. We started very well by putting them under pressure. It was a clean first-half.
“Apart from the two free-kicks, they didn’t get many chances to score.”
