What Oleksandr Zinchenko said about Arsenal after pre-season debut

Oleksandr Zinchenko completed a £30 million transfer to Arsenal just last week.

Zinchenko became the north Londoners' fifth summer signing, joining former Manchester City teammate Gabriel Jesus, American shot-stopper Matt Turner, Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira and Brazilian starlet Marquinhos at the Emirates Stadium. The Ukrainian international made his debut for Mikel Arteta's side over the weekend, starting at left-back as the Gunners secured an emphatic 4-0 victory over local rivals Chelsea in a fiery pre-season clash.

After the full-time, the 25-year-old was in awe of Arsenal's supporters, heaping praise on the club as a whole. "Oh my God, what a club," he said.

"Unbelievable. What a pleasure to be here. Come on Gunners."

Zinchenko's glowing assessment of the club will go a long way with the Gunners faithful, who have been told to expect a few more signings by manager Arteta. Speaking earlier in the week, the Spaniard said: "You can see we are still a little bit short in some positions for the way that we want to play, but it is something that we are trying to address.

"We have increased the quality of the team, and the level of the squad is something that we want to keep raising." Arsenal are also keen to offload a number of fringe players before the transfer window shuts on September 1.

Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Hector Bellerin and Pablo Mari have all been linked with moves away from the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners will want to trim their squad and wage bill if they are to make any more additional signings this summer.
