What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Man Utd players in dressing room after Barcelona loss

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer informed his Manchester United troops of his plans to build team capable of rivalling Barcelona after crashing out of the Champions League.

The Red Devils lost 3-0 at the Nou Camp as Barcelona advanced to the semi-finals - and Solskjaer immediately turned his attentions to strengthening his squad in the summer.

He addressed his players in the changing room after the game and reportedly told them of his intentions of assembling a team that could compete at the very top level, according to ESPN.

Solskjaer feels United must conduct "clever business" as he oversees a major rebuilding job to re-establish United among the European elite.

He will be handed a £250million kitty to boos this squad, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Aaron Wan-Bissaka top of United's hit list.

Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez could all make way.

In a previous era United were able to attract the world's best talents but, despite their track record of spending big in recent years, that may no longer be the case.

They have a battle on their hands to finish in the Premier League's top four but Solskjaer is already envisioning a scenario in the future where United are on an equal footing with their conquerors on Tuesday night.

"Yeah, that is the level we have to aspire to because that's the level we have been," Solskjaer told MUTV.

"We want to get there and we have to get there by hard work and attitude every single day, and of course some clever business we have to do and just keep on going."
