What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Man United's top four battle with Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that the results will come for Manchester United amid the battle to try and finish in the top four in the Premier League.

Manchester United currently sit fifth in the Premier League, five points behind Chelsea in fourth after 16 games, with the Red Devils boosted by recent wins against Tottenham and Manchester City.

United are ahead of Wolves on goal difference, one point ahead of Tottenham in seventh and two points ahead of Sheffield United, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Newcastle, in what is a congested mid-table.

And having sealed their place in the last 32 of the Europa League, United can now focus on the busy festive period in the Premier League, with games to come against Everton, Watford, Newcastle United, Burnley and Arsenal between now and New Year's Day.

But ahead of facing Everton this weekend, United boss Solskjaer has been speaking about what his side will need in the battle for the top four.

"I don't think about it in December, not at all. There's too many games in December, January, February, March, April," he said, speaking after United's win against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

"We just need to keep doing what we're doing and keep developing this team, keep sticking to what we believe in and improving every day - then I believe the results will come.

"Last week [against Man City] was good but it's history now. The group is going in the right direction."

United host Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Toffees legend Duncan Ferguson set to take charge of his second game as caretaker manager, following the sacking of Marco Silva last week.
