What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said about Christian Eriksen amid Manchester United transfer speculation

Manchester United are being encouraged to make a move for Christian Eriksen ahead of the summer transfer deadline later this week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added his third signing of the summer on Monday when the club signed Harry Maguire from Leicester, and now it is being suggested that Eriksen could become the fourth arrival of the window.

The Denmark international has just one-year remaining on his current deal at Spurs and has already been linked with a number of clubs this summer.

Real Madrid have long been touted as potential suitors for the 27-year-old but United could also make a move before the end of the transfer window.

Solskjaer is keen to add a new central midfielder to his squad this summer, and Eriksen is a player who he has spoken fondly about in the past.

Working as a pundit for Sky Sports back in December 2014 the Norwegian coach praised Eriksen after he netted a late winner against Swansea.

Eriksen spoke to reporters after the game and his words certainly did enough to impress the current United manager.

“If you look at the interview, Eriksen is quite the cool customer," he said.

“He doesn’t seem to be carried away.

"He is one of Scandinavia’s best players by a mile. He has done really well.”
