What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said about Harry Kane as Tottenham make £200m transfer decision

Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of doing business with Manchester United over star striker Harry Kane.

Amid reports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would be willing to sell the striker, but only for £200m, football.london understands that the north London outfit have no intention of selling Kane to any other Premier League club, including the Red Devils.

This stance will no doubt serve as a blow to United legend Roy Keane after he urged his former club to sign the England international.

Spurs behind the scenes on transfers, Mourinho's training session and Levy backlash

"Go and get Kane. Just go and get Kane from Spurs, easy,” he said whilst on punditry duty for Sky Sports for United's 1-1 draw with Liverpool earlier in the season when discussing how the side could get back into title contention.

"Yeah, what are you all staring at?

"He scores 20 goals a season with his eyes shut. They’re in disarray, go and get him."

With that said, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer later had the chance to respond to what his former teammate had said and appeared to be in agreement.

"Roy's quite straightforward, isn't he?," Solskjaer said. "There aren't many [Robert] Lewandowskis and Harry Kanes - they're like [Alan] Shearer, [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy, fantastic players.

"Ours are different types of players but I like someone who can finish half a chance and Harry does that, but Harry is a Tottenham player."

Interestingly, Kane has recently hinted at leaving Spurs if they're unable to match his ambitions.

"It's one of those things, I couldn't say yes, I couldn't say no [about staying at Tottenham for his whole career]," he said. "I love Spurs, I'll always love Spurs. But it's one of those things.

"I've always said if I don't feel we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I'm not someone to just stay there for the sake of it.

"I'm an ambitious player, I want to improve, I want to get better, I want to become one of the top, top players.

"It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it's not a definite I'm going to stay there forever - but it's not a no either."

As things stand, Keane and Solskjaer will not be getting their wish of Kane at the 'Theatre of Dreams' next season and that will be music to the ears of many Tottenham fans.
