What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did in training to motivate Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United fans are surely glad that their club's season is over.

From the dismal start to the campaign under Jose Mourinho to the initial euphoria of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era to the slow trudge towards a sixth place finish, it's all been pretty exhausting in truth.

They'll be back again next season though, with Solskjaer again at the wheel and looking to get the Red Devils back up there with the elite clubs in the country.

He's got some other business to take care of first though.

Because as the Norwegian is all too willing to remind people, the former forward was a key member of the United squad that beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in 1999, securing the Treble long before Manchester City could dream of anything like that.

Sunday will see Solskjaer don his boots again as a team of United legends again face their Bayern counterparts in a charity reunion match, and the United boss has been getting his eye in in front of goal before the game, while trying to inspire Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku at the same time.

That's according to United reserve goalkeeper Lee Grant anyway, who was the man between the sticks as Solskjaer indulged in some shooting practice.

“It was the first time I managed to get a glimpse of whether he still had it or not,” Grant told the United website .

“We had a shooting session and I was doing some one-on-one work with Romelu [Lukaku] and Paul [Pogba]. The manager came over and I could see he was limbering up in the corner of my eye.

“He got involved and he was still pretty deadly, I have to be honest.

"He had some bad luck because he kept hitting the same post in the same spot. But the touch was there and the instinct was still there.

"He is very, very clinical still. He did well and I am looking forward to seeing that game on Sunday.”

He'll hope to be a little more accurate then.
